Luka Modric is delighted to extend his contract with Real Madrid. The 38-year-old is now set to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu till June 30, 2025.

On Wednesday (July 17), the club announced on their website that they have tied down the veteran midfielder for another, with his previous contract expiring last month while he was on Croatia duty at Euro 2024.

Having first arrived at the Bernabeu in the summer of 2012 from Tottenham Hotspur, Modric has spent 12 hugely successful seasons at the club. In 534 games across competitions, he has bagged 39 goals and 86 assists.

After Los Blancos announced his contract extension for another year, a delighted Modric said (as per Madrid Xtra) that he realised a dream when he first signed for Los Blancos.

“All my dreams came true when I signed for Real Madrid.”

The veteran midfielder is coming off a rather underwhelming Euro 2024 campaign, scoring once in three games as Croatia crashed out in the group stage after finishing outside the four best third-placed teams.

Modric's goal in the 1-1 group-stage draw with defending champions Italy in the third game made the 38-year-old the oldest scorer in Euro history, though.
