Alan Shearer has backed Liverpool to beat Crystal Palace in the early Premier League kickoff on Saturday, October 5. The Premier League legend acknowledged that Arne Slot's side we not good enough against Wolverhampton but we're capable of beating the London-based side.

In his weekly prediction for Metro (via BetFair), Shearer also addressed Crystal Palace's poor form. He wrote:

"L'pool were not at their best last week vs Wolves, but they took all the points which is a good sign. They also followed that up with another win in the Champions League against Bologna. Palace have been a little bit disappointing in terms of what they've done so far this season, and I think Liverpool will have too much for them here. Selhurst Park is always a tough ground to go to but with the squad they have, I think L'pool will have enough to get the points."

Liverpool are on top of the Premier League table right now with 15 points from six matches. They are a point ahead of Manchester City and Arsenal, while Chelsea are just two points behind in fourth.

Liverpool manager not worried about Premier League early kickoffs

Jurgen Klopp was never a fan of early kickoffs on Saturday and voiced his opinion against it regularly. Arne Slot was not of the same opinion but urged the FA to address the tight schedule.

Slot said in a press conference:

"I think the league I come from, they are more aware and try to help teams in Europe but to be fair to English FA our schedule is tight so it is difficult. It has a lot to do with TV stations, feels like I do an interview every day. I think they can pick a team for 12:30pm, so they choose L'pool. Every away game is difficult. Ten of 18 away games didn't lead to a win (last week). People talk about 12:30pm, we talk about difficult away games. If 12:30pm was a difficult time to perform then I am a stupid manager because I train every day at midday!"

Liverpool could be without Federico Chiesa once again after the Italian picked up an injury issue earlier this week. He also missed the Champions League clash with Bologna. Diogo Jota, meanwhile, is back after missing the previous Premier League clash against Wolves.
