Montenegro will face Wales at the Stadion Kraj Bistrice on Monday in another round of their 2024-25 UEFA Nations League campaign. The home side enjoyed a bright start to life under head coach Robert Prosinecki but look to have lost their way in recent games and currently find themselves rock-bottom in Group 4.

They were beaten 2-0 by Iceland in their group opener on Friday night, conceding a goal in either half and failing to create any noteworthy chances to get on the scoresheet themselves.

After failing to qualify for the European Championship in June, Wales appointed Craig Bellamy as the new head coach. The former Manchester City man took charge of his first game on Friday as the Dragons faced Turkey at the Cardiff City Stadium in their Nations League opener which ended goalless.

Despite failing to clinch maximum points, Wales were quite clearly the better side in their game against Turkey last time out and will take confidence from that when they hit the road next week.

Montenegro vs Wales Head-to-Head and Key Numbers

  • There have been three meetings between Montenegro and Wales. The home side have won two of those games while the visitors have won the other.
  • The two teams last faced off in a European Championship qualifying clash back in September 2011 which the Dragons won 2-1 via goals from Steve Morison and current captain Aaron Ramsey.
  • The hosts are without a clean sheet in their last three games across all competitions.
  • Montenegro were ranked 73rd in the latest FIFA rankings and now sit 43 places behind their midweek opponents.

Montenegro vs Wales Prediction

Montenegro are on a three-game losing streak after winning four of their four games prior. They have, however, won three of their last four games on home soil and will be hopeful of a positive result on Monday.

Wales are on a four-game winless streak and have won just one of their last seven games across all competitions. However, they performed well against Turkey on Friday and should have enough to see off a significantly weaker side on Monday.

Prediction: Montenegro 0-1 Wales
