Norwegian Eliteserien return with a fresh set of fixtures as Molde FK and KFUM Oslo square off at the Aker Stadion on Saturday. Having secured promotion from the 1st Division last season, Johannes Moesgaard’s men have proven their mettle in the big leagues as they currently sit in the top half of the table.
Molde were made to rue their lack of cutting edge in the final third as they were held to a goalless draw by Fredrikstad last Saturday.
However, Erling Moe’s side have now gone six consecutive games without defeat in all competitions, claiming four wins and two draws since a 4-2 home loss against Sarpsborg on May 20.
With 28 points from 15 matches, Molde are currently third in the Eliteserien standings, level on points with fourth-placed Viking and five points adrift of league leaders Bodo/Glimt.
KFUM Oslo, on the other hand, returned to winning ways last time out when they edged out Tromso 2-1 at the Alfheim Stadion.
Prior to that, Moesgaard’s men were on a three-match losing streak and had failed to taste victory in five consecutive matches across all competitions since mid May.
With 18 points from 14 matches, KFUM are currently eighth in the Eliteserien table and could move into sixth place with all three points this weekend.
