Marseille host Nice in Ligue 1

Marseille will entertain Nice at the Stade Vélodrome in Ligue 1 on Saturday. The hosts have enjoyed an unbeaten start to their league campaign, winning two of their three games while Les Aiglons have just one win to their name.

Both teams registered wins before the international break and will look to continue their form here.

Les Phocéens met Toulouse away from home in their previous outing and registered a comfortable 3-1 win, bouncing back from a 2-2 draw against Brest. Mason Greenwood continued his form with a first-half brace and they were helped with Charlie Cresswell's own goal in the second half.

The visitors registered their first win of the campaign last time around as they overcame Angers 4-1 in their away game. Youssouf Ndayishimiye and Hicham Boudaoui scored in the first half while Evann Guessand bagged a second-half brace.

  • Marseille have lost just one of their last 18 home games in Ligue 1. They have scored at least two goals in 13 games in that period.
  • Nice have won just one of their last seven Ligue 1 away meetings against Les Phocéens.
  • Both teams have conceded four goals in three league games thus far and the hosts have outscored Les Aiglons 10-6.

Marseille vs Nice Prediction

Les Phocéens have scored at least two goals in eight of their last nine league outings and will look to continue their goalscoring run here. Interestingly, they drew their first home game of the campaign against Brest last season and will look to record their first home win here.

Roberto De Zerbi will be without the services of Chancel Mbemba but Ismaël Koné could make his debut here. Leonardo Balerdi resumed light training but is expected to be back in the lineup next week.

Le Gym have improved consistently this term and after a loss in their campaign opener, they have a draw and a win in their last two games. They have a good recent away record in Ligue 1, with one loss in seven games.

Gaetan Laborde, Morgan Sanson, Terem Moffi, and Hicham Boudaoui are nursing injuries while Moise Bombito is suspended after a red card against Angers. Sofiane Diop is back after a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Considering Marseille's unbeaten record in the league thus far and home advantage, they are expected to record a win.

Prediction: Marseille 3-2 Nice
