Manchester City were fortunate to claim a 2-2 draw against 10-man Arsenal in their Premier League clash on Sunday (September 22). The reigning champions were held back for much of the game by their resolute opponents who will be disappointed to leave with a point.

The hosts took the lead through Erling Haaland who scored his 100th goal for the side in the fourth minute before a glorious Riccardo Calafiori strike drew the Gunners level (22'). Arsenal were put ahead by Gabriel Maghales (45+1') and John Stones would eventually equalize (90+8') with the last kick of the game to see the match end in an entertaining draw.

Manchester City Substitutes

Mateo Kovacic - 7.5/10

The Croatian international came on for Rodri and completed 95% of his passes (82/86) while making four recoveries with his 92 touches.

Phil Foden - 7/10

The Englishman came on for 20 minutes but did not test the Arsenal defense in any realistic way. He completed 21 out of 24 passes from his 28 touches in an uneventful stint against the Gunners.

The English defender was the definition of an impact sub for Manchester City. Stones came on for 12 minutes and only did two things in the game — complete a pass and score the equalizing goal. He was an excellent addition to the game.
