Maccabi Tel Aviv and FCSB square off in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League second qualifying round on Wednesday (July 31). With last week’s first-leg ending 1-1, a place in the third round is up for grabs at the Bozsik Aréna.

Dan Bidon and Joyskim Dawa scored for either side as Maccabi and FCSB played out a 1-1 stalemate at the Steaua Stadium on Wednesday. For Zarko Lazetic’s men, it came a week after they had clinched the 2024 Israeli Super Cup with a 2-0 victory over Maccabi Petach Tikva.

Maccabi are unbeaten in 12 games across competitions since a 1-0 loss to Hapoel Be'er Sheva on April 15.

Meanwhile, FCSB continue to struggle in the new Romanian Superliga campaign, suffering a 2-0 loss against Otelul Galati last Friday. Elias Charalambous’s men are winless in their opening three league matches, losing once.

FCSB will need to show their mettle as they head into the tie winless in four of their last five away games since April.
