Lyon host Marseille in Ligue 1

Lyon will welcome Marseille to Parc Olympique Lyonnais in Ligue 1 on Sunday. The hosts have won just one of their four league games this season while Les Phocéens have enjoyed an unbeaten run, recording three wins.

Les Gones had suffered back-to-back losses in their first two games of the season, conceding five goals without a reply. They are unbeaten in their last two with a win and a draw. They resumed their league campaign following the international break with a goalless away draw against Lens.

The visitors made it two wins on the spin last week with a 2-0 home win over Nice. Neal Maupay broke the deadlock in the 40th minute and Luis Henrique doubled their lead soon after the break.

Lyon vs Marseille Prediction

Les Gones have endured a slow start to their league campaign with just one win in four games. They have failed to score in three games and will look to improve upon that record. They have won four of their last five home games in Ligue 1, scoring at least two goals in these, and will look to build on that record.

Pierre Sage has a clean bill of health for this match, though the involvement of Wilfried Zaha remains doubtful. Nicolás Tagliafico was on the bench against Lens last week and should return to the starting XI here.

Les Phocéens have enjoyed an unbeaten start to their season, and are in second place in the league standings. They have won their last three away games in Ligue 1, scoring 10 goals, and will look to build on that form. While they have won three of their last four meetings against the hosts, they have just one win in their last 15 Ligue 1 away games in this fixture.

Roberto De Zerbi has a few absentees for the match as Adrien Rabiot, Quentin Merlin, Bilal Nadir, Faris Moumbagna, and Rubén Blanco are injured. Derek Cornelius will serve a suspension after a red card last week.

Both teams will look to take home the bragging rights from the first edition of the fiercely contested derby. Considering their current form, they are likely to play out an entertaining draw.

Prediction: Lyon 2-2 Marseille
