Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister has eased fears over a potential injury setback after being substituted during Liverpool's 2-1 victory against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday.

At half-time, Dominik Szoboszlai replaced the 25-year-old, who departed with a groin complaint.

However, the midfielder, included in Argentina’s squad for crucial upcoming fixtures, took to social media after the match to downplay concerns about his fitness.

“Great win for the team today, these are the moments that make us stronger!” Mac Allister wrote on Instagram.
“I felt a slight discomfort during the game, but nothing that will stop me. Now fully focused on what’s ahead.”

Mac Allister is set to undergo further checks to determine the extent of the injury. A decision will then be made regarding his availability for Argentina’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Venezuela and Bolivia.

If the 25-year-old's social media post is true, Pool manager Arne Slot will no doubt welcome the news, particularly with Alisson Becker also picking up a suspected hamstring injury during the same match. The goalkeeper is expected to withdraw from Brazil's squad for their international fixtures and will undergo scans to assess the seriousness of the injury.

Alisson's absence could prove significant for the Reds, with concerns that he may be sidelined for a lengthy period.

Liverpool inform Brazil that Alisson Becker will miss October internationals due to injury sustained in win against Crystal Palace

Liverpool have reportedly informed the Brazilian Football Federation that Alisson Becker will not be available for Brazil’s October World Cup qualifiers against Chile and Peru.

The 32-year-old goalkeeper suffered a hamstring injury during Liverpool’s 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace, limping off in the second half. Alisson’s injury, which forced him to be substituted for debutant Vitezslav Jaros, has been deemed serious enough to rule him out of the upcoming international fixtures.

According to a report by Globo (via Mirror UK), Brazil has already called up 36-year-old Palmeiras goalkeeper Weverton as his replacement. Weverton, who has 10 caps for his country, last featured in a friendly against Morocco earlier this year.

Liverpool manager Arne Slot provided a grim assessment of Alisson’s condition after the match, indicating that the Brazilian could be sidelined for a while.

"Unfortunately, Ali won’t be with us for the next matches," Slot told TNT Sports.

The absence of Alisson is a significant blow for both club and country with Brazil struggling in their World Cup qualification campaign, having taken just 10 points from eight games.
