Guatemala face Guyana on Friday

Guyana welcome Guatemala to Leonora for a CONCACAF Nations League fixture on Friday (October 11th). The hosts were last in action when they played out a 2-2 draw away to Martinique in the Nations League last month.

They went into the break 2-1 ahead and with a one-man advantage. Isaiah Jones scored either side of Florent Poulolo's 17th-minute red card, while Brighton Labeau pulled one back for the hosts. Rudy Varane drew the game level with four minutes left on the clock.

Guatemala, meanwhile, also shared the spoils in their last game, albeit in a less exciting goalless draw at home to Costa Rica.

The stalemate left Los Chapines in second spot in Group A with four points to show for their efforts in two games. Guyana are fifth on one point.

Guyana vs Guatemala Prediction

Guyana kick-started their Nations League campaign with defeat to Suriname and would have been disappointed not to have claimed maximum points against Martinique. They were the underdogs heading into the game but let a two-goal lead slip despite having a one-man advantage for over an hour.

Guatemala, for their part, have not been at their best in recent months, having won just two of their last five games, including friendlies. However, two of those games came against South American giants Argentina and Uruguay. Luis Fernando Tena's side took the lead against the world champions before eventually losing 4-1 while they claimed a memorable 1-1 draw against La Celeste.

Guatemala have a 100 per cent record in this fixture and we are backing this record to continue with a comfortable win and goals at both ends.

Prediction: Guyana 1-3 Guatemala
