England face off with Finland at Wembley Stadium in a UEFA Nations League match this Tuesday. These teams saw contrasting results in their opening games in League B's Group 2 this weekend.

England traveled to Dublin and claimed a 0-2 win over the Republic of Ireland, while Finland slumped to a 3-0 defeat to Greece in Piraeus.

With more points and potential promotion to League A at stake, will England claim their second win or can Finland cause a major upset?

England vs Finland Head-to-Head and Key Numbers

  • England have played Finland on 11 occasions in the past, winning nine of their meetings and drawing the other two. Their most recent game came back in 2001, when goals from Michael Owen and David Beckham gave the Three Lions the win.
  • This Tuesday's game will be the first home match for England under Lee Carsley. New England bosses tend to do well in their first home games, with Fabio Capello, Roy Hodgson and Gareth Southgate all winning their first match at Wembley.
  • After naming an XI full of Southgate's go-to players against Ireland, Carsley could make changes here. Those changes could lead to first caps for Tino Livramento and Noni Madueke, following the debuts of Angel Gomes and Morgan Gibbs-White this weekend.
  • Finland's form will not give them much confidence for this trip to Wembley. They have won just one of their past five matches, and have suffered defeats to Portugal and Wales as well as their recent loss to Greece in this sequence.
  • Former Norwich City legend Teemu Pukki, who is Finland's all-time top scorer with 42, will be hoping to find the net in his first game back in England since moving to the US in 2023.

England vs Finland Prediction

After performing well against the Republic of Ireland in their first game under Lee Carsley, England will be full of confidence and looking to impress in front of their home fans here.

Finland have a handful of good players, but their recent record is poor and their loss to Greece was hardly encouraging.

With that in mind, we should probably expect a one-sided win in favor of the Three Lions here, with multiple goals scored.

Prediction: England 4-0 Finland

England vs Finland Betting Tips

Tip 1: Result - England to win.

Tip 2: England to score more than 2.5 goals - Yes (England have some dangerous attackers to call upon and Finland are their weakest opponents in some time).

Tip 3: England to keep a clean sheet - Yes (England are defensively solid and it feels unlikely that Finland will breach them this week).
