Real Madrid boss defends Tchouameni's performance in Atletico Madrid clash

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has backed French Midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni after his outing against Atletico Madrid. The Frenchman has been with the Spanish giants since 2022 when he joined from AS Monaco for a reported €80 million.

He has gone on to make 97 appearances for Los Blancos in that time, scoring scoring three goals and assisting five more. The 24-year-old has helped the club to One La Liga and one UEFA Champions League crown among other honors.

Speaking after the match about the France international, Ancelotti said (via Managing Madrid):

“He’s good. This was a very hard-fought and competitive game, it wasn’t ideal for him after a long-time out and he could play on Wednesday. Tchouameni had presence on the ball and was fantastic.”

Real Madrid's draw against Atletico Madrid saw them maintain their unbeaten streak in the Spanish top flight for over a year. Rojiblancos were the last team to beat them on September 24, 2023.

The reigning champions of Spain are currently second in La Liga, three points behind eternal rivals Barcelona after eight games.
