Confirmed: Ashley Cole signs two year deal with Roma

Former Chelsea defender has signed a two year deal with Italian side AS Roma.

The left back left Chelsea after eight very successful years with the club and despite plenty of offers elsewhere he has chosen to join the Serie A side.

The club officially announced on Monday that Cole had signed a two year deal,having earlier tweeted a picture of the player in Rome.

With young left back Dodo reportedly moving to Inter Milan on loan Cole will be the first choice at the club and will bring a great deal of international experience to the Roma back line.

Cole has always maintained that he still feels he has a lot to offer and his choice of club reflects that, Roma finished second in Serie A last season and are looking to build a squad capable of challenging Juventus for the title.

Cole won one Premier League title with Chelsea as well as one Champions League title, one Europa League title and four FA Cups.
