Chelsea fans were excited after the club completed the signing of English midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester City on a permanent deal. The midfielder has become the club's fourth summer signing as they prepare to build on an impressive end to the 2023-24 season.

The Blues have been active in the transfer market since the arrival of Todd Boehly and the Clearlake Group in 2022, spending over £1 billion since. They had a surprisingly quiet January transfer window but have swung into action this summer, staying busy in the market.

Chelsea appointed Enzo Maresca as their manager ahead of the 2024-25 season and have brought in one of his trusted lieutenants in Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. The Blues have signed the 25-year-old for £30 million on a contract that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2030.

Dewsbury-Hall enjoyed a brilliant season in the Championship last season, contributing 12 goals and 14 assists for the Foxes as they won the title. The Blues reportedly beat Brighton & Hove Albion to his signing.

Chelsea fans have reacted positively to the signing of the midfielder, with optimism that he raises the level of their side. One fan felt that Chelsea now have their own Kevin De Bruyne, a decade after the Belgian left the club:

"We’ve got our own De Bruyne hahaha."

Another fan posted:

"Left footed baller, Chelsea got themselves a real one."

A fan hailed the Englishman as a quality player:

"He is such a baller."

Another fan predicted that the Blues will secure a top-four finish with the signing:

"With this player Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, I see Chelsea finish top 4 next season."

Another fan sent a message to welcome him to the club:

"WELCOME TO CHELSEA KDH. ITS TIME TO TAKE OVER."

The Blues have announced the signings of two players this week, with Marc Guiu having joined from Barcelona on Monday. They previously announced the arrivals of Tosin Adarabioyo and Omari Kellyman from Fulham and Aston Villa, respectively.

Chelsea set to lose teenage sensation to Premier League rivals - Reports

Chelsea are reportedly prepared to lose teenage star Michael Golding to Leicester City in a separate deal. As per The Athletic (via NYTimes), the Blues will allow the teenage midfielder to move to the King Power Stadium this summer on a permanent basis.

18-year-old midfielder Michael Golding made his professional debut under Mauricio Pochettino last season. He featured in an FA Cup match against Preston North End in what was his only senior appearance for the club.

The Athletic reports that the Blues will receive a straight £5 million fee for the young midfielder with no sell-on or buy-back clauses included in the transfer. The sale of the teenager provides a bit of profit to the Blues, who have had him in their ranks since his under-12 days.
