Fans took to social media to react to Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr sacking Luis Castro as their manager. The Portuguese tactician was in charge of the Saudi Pro-League outfit for 54 games, beginning in August 2023, but was given his marching orders after a poor run of five games recently where the side managed only one win.

Following the announcement that the club has parted ways with the manager, fans took to social media to post about the development, with one of them urging the club to hire Frenchman Zinedine Zidane.

"Bring Zidane," the fan wrote.

Another fan seemed relieved, as they wrote:

"It’s about time."

Another post asked the club to:

"FINALLY SIGN A GREAT COACH NOW."

Yet another fan post anticipated the next managerial appointment at the club, writing:

"We wait for the next coach to take our club to heights."

Another post read:

"Best decision taken, now the club needs a manager who knows exactly what winning a championship is."

Luis Castro averaged 2.17 points per game with Al-Nassr and oversaw Cristiano Ronaldo scoring 47 goals in 48 games while providing 16 assists under his tutelage. The former Botafogo boss leaves the Arabian club without securing any silverware during his stint as manager.

Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr sack Luis Castro after Al-Shorta draw

Cristiano Ronaldo's side Al-Nassr parted ways with manager Luis Castro after a 1-1 draw with Al-Shorta in the AFC Champions League on Monday (September 16). The Portuguese duo started working together at the Saudi Pro-League outfit in 2023, with the legendary forward playing 48 times under Castro.

The pair enjoyed a fruitful working relationship but a poor run of form in their last five games led to the 63-year-old's dismissal. The side has won one, drawn three, and lost one of their previous five games.

The draw in the Champions League proved to be the final straw for the higher-ups at the club, as they released a statement on social media on Tuesday (September 17) that read:

"Al Nassr can announce that head coach Luis Castro has left the club. Everyone at Al Nassr would like to thank Luis and his staff for their dedicated work during the past 14 months, wishing them the best of luck for the future."

The Riyadh-based club will now look to bring in a new manager as soon as possible to turn their form around before the gap between them and the top of the league widens. With five points, Al-Nassr are seventh on the Saudi Pro League points table, while Al-Ittihad are at the top with nine points.
