AFC Ajax Amsterdam will face Sint-Truidense at the Sportpark Bovenmolen on Tuesday in a pre-season friendly between the two teams. The Amsterdam outfit endured a rather turbulent campaign last season and have now begun work to rectify things, with Francesco Farioli coming in as the new boss.
The Eredivisie outfit suffered a 1-0 defeat to PEC Zwolle in their first pre-season outing of the summer and perhaps deserved more from the game but were guilty of wasteful finishing and will be looking to put out a better showing on Tuesday.
Following the midweek clash, AFC Ajax Amsterdam will return to action on Saturday, facing Scottish outfit Rangers in yet another friendly before facing Vojvodina in a two-legged UEFA Europa League qualifying clash later in the month.
Sint-Truidense, meanwhile, had mixed results in the Belgian top flight last season and are also undergoing a managerial change following the exit of head coach Thorsten Fink. They were in action on Saturday facing Twente in a friendly clash which ended 2-2, with Joselpho Barnes scoring the decisive equalizer in the second half to continue his rich vein of form in pre-season.
The Canaries will return to Belgium following Tuesday's clash where they face Koln before kicking off the new season against Anderlecht at the end of the month.
