South Africa v West Indies - ICC Women
Hayley Matthews bowled a tight spell of 0/22 in four overs in the defeat to South Africa.

West Indies and Scotland will lock horns in the eighth ICC Women's T20I World Cup 2024 match on Sunday, October 6. The Dubai International Cricket Stadium will host the game.

South Africa ran the Windies ragged in a dominant win on Friday, October 4, and while they're still in control of their fate, Hayley Matthews and company enter must-win territory now.

They'll want to gain valuable momentum and net run rate with a win over Scotland but as Kathryn Bryce's side showed in their spirited performance in a defeat to Bangladesh, they won't be easy to beat, especially once they improve their fielding.

This should be a pretty interesting match. Let's look at the top three captaincy and vice-captaincy options on Dream11 from this match.

#3 Chinelle Henry (ALL - WI)

Hard-hitting all-rounder Chinelle Henry is someone to consider for Dream11 captaincy in this match.

The 29-year-old is known for her ball-striking abilities and contributions with the ball, and she showcased her abilities in the recently concluded warm-up match against India, where she smashed an unbeaten 59* and bowled a stellar spell of 1/11 in four overs.

While she was unable to replicate the same against a much better South African side, she'll be raring to go and stamp her authority against Scotland. All-rounders and bowlers have been the successful Dream11 captaincy picks so far, and that trend should continue.

#2 Kathryn Bryce (ALL - SCO)

Kathryn Bryce will once again hold the key for Scotland.
Kathryn Bryce will once again hold the key for Scotland.

Scotland captain Kathryn Bryce reaffirmed her position as one of the best Dream11 picks with her performance against Bangladesh, albeit in a losing cause. She got Scotland's first wicket in a T20 World Cup and could've had more in her spell of 1/23 in four overs had her side fielded better.

She also came in at No.3 and made a run-a-ball 11 before being castled by Marufa Akter. While Saskia Horley did get some overs toward the end of the innings, she's not likely to get them consistently. Bryce is the only complete all-rounder in the Scotland XI, and whenever they play, regardless of the opponent, she'll always remain a quality captaincy pick.

#1 Hayley Matthews (ALL - WI)

Does this even need to be mentioned? Hayley Matthews is the No.1-ranked T20I all-rounder and going up against Scotland, she's undoubtedly the No. 1 captaincy choice.

The West Indies skipper couldn't leave much of an impact on her side's defeat to South Africa as Marizanne Kapp prized her out for a mere 10 runs. While she tried her best with the ball, the partnership of Tazmin Brits and Laura Wolvaardt proved unbreakable.

Nevertheless, Hayley Matthews is a force to be reckoned with regardless of opponent, and with this becoming a must-win game for the West Indies, expect her to be at her best in this match. She's undoubtedly the standout captaincy option.
