The West Indies and Scotland lock horns in the eighth match of the ICC Women's T20I World Cup 2024 on Sunday, October 6, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Both teams enter this match on the back of defeats.

While Scotland did give Bangladesh a run for their money with some good bowling, poor fielding allowed Niger Sultana's side to score an extra few runs, which proved to be the difference in the end.

On the other hand, the West Indies were well beaten by South Africa, who hardly broke a sweat in their commanding ten-wicket run chase which concluded in the 18th over. This is a big game for Hayley Matthews' side, both to put points on the board and regain their confidence. However, against Kathryn Bryce's talented group of players, that's easier said than done.

On that note, let's look at some Dream11 differentials from this fixture.

#3 Karishma Ramharack (BOWL) (WI)

West Indies off-spinner Karishma Ramharack could be a neat Dream11 differential for this fixture. The 29-year-old went wicketless like all the other Windies' bowlers against South Africa but she was quite economical in her spell, never giving anything away to the South African openers.

That has been a hallmark of her game and she has always been a tight and economical bowler, having picked up 25 wickets in 33 matches at an economy rate of 6.55.

The Scotland batters didn't look too comfortable facing the spinners and having a lesser-owned member of the Windies' bowling attack who is assured to bowl her full quota of overs is never a bad option.

#2 Abtaha Maqsood (BOWL) (SCO)

Abtaha Maqsood is one of the most experienced players in this Scotland squad.

Leg-spinner Abtaha Maqsood is another integral member of this Scotland unit. She has featured in 54 T20Is, picking up as many wickets at a stellar economy rate of 5.33.

The 25-year-old bowled a really tight spell against Bangladesh and was unlucky not to get a wicket as the Bangladesh batters went into a shell throughout her spell, with the other bowlers like Saskia Horley benefiting from the pressure she exerted.

Spin was the undoing of the West Indies batters against South Africa, and having a proven wicket-taker like Abtaha Maqsood in your Dream11 team for this match could prove to be a masterstroke.

#1 Qiana Joseph (BAT) (WI)

West Indies opener Qiana Joseph is a powerful Dream11 differential pick. The batting all-rounder has much better bowling records in international cricket and she has four wickets in nine innings in T20Is at a solid economy rate of 5.49.

Scotland did struggle against Nahida Akter, and on a surface that should aid the spinners, Qiana likely gets called upon to send in a few overs.

While she doesn't have the best numbers with the bat, Joseph is, however, an opener, and regardless of form or stature, anyone who opens the batting has a very high points ceiling. And that's exactly the kind of player you want to select as a Dream11 differential.
