ENG vs WI Dream11 Prediction: 3 players you can pick as captain or vice-captain for today’s Women's T20 World Cup 2024 match – October 15, 2024

Shreyas
Bangladesh v England - ICC Women
Charlie Dean has been an integral part of England's bowling lineup.

England will face the West Indies in a thrilling ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 group-stage encounter on Tuesday, October 15. The Dubai International Cricket Stadium will host the match.

While the two semi-finalists from Group A were determined after New Zealand comfortably trounced Pakistan, Group B is still wide open, with South Africa, England, and the West Indies all vying for the two semi-final spots.

England are the favorites as they've won three in three so far, and a positive result here will see them top the group and take on New Zealand in the semi-final.

However, they'll come up against a West Indies team who have recovered well from the drubbing they received at the hands of South Africa in the opening fixture. Since then, they've been miserly with the ball and clinical with the bat, and their strong net run rate means that a win will guarantee them a place in the semi-finals, and could see them top the group.

With plenty to look forward to in this match, let's now shift our attention to the top three Dream11 captaincy options.

#3 Charlie Dean (BOWL - ENG)

Charlie Dean has enjoyed a solid Women's T20 World Cup so far, bowling miserly spells in each of her three games and picking up four wickets in the process. The off-spinner usually bowls two overs in the powerplay and one at the death, and that certainly increases her chances of picking up wickets to a great extent.

She also has a terrific record against the West Indies, picking up 11 wickets in five matches against Hayley Matthews' side, averaging an outstanding 8.5 with the ball. She could be a valuable left-field Dream11 captaincy pick.

#2 Hayley Matthews (ALL - WI)

Hayley Matthews will look to guide her team into the semi-finals for the first time since the 2018 edition.
Hayley Matthews will look to guide her team into the semi-finals for the first time since the 2018 edition.

West Indies captain Hayley Matthews, the No.1 T20I All-Rounder in the ICC Rankings, hasn't enjoyed a good tournament. While her best knock so far, a 22-ball 34 against Bangladesh came in the West Indies' latest outing, her aggregate of 52 runs and two wickets in three matches won't satisfy a player of her caliber.

She is one of the best all-rounders in the world and regardless of the opponent, has a very high points ceiling. With her team's qualification chances on the line, she should be at her best, and Matthews is always in consideration for Dream11 captaincy.

#1 Nat Sciver-Brunt (ALL - ENG)

England's Nat Sciver-Brunt is another top all-rounder and is likely to be the most-captained Dream11 player in this match. She bowled a tight spell of 1/20 in her four overs against Scotland and wasn't required to bat as Maia Bouchier and Danni Wyatt-Hodge stitched a stellar opening stand to finish the game.

She has had a decent tournament, with scores of 2 and 48* and two wickets. However, she'll look to push on and deliver a complete all-round performance in this match against an opponent she likes playing against.

Nat Sciver-Brunt has 12 wickets and 320 runs against the West Indies in 14 matches, and she'll look to add to that tally in this game. She should be at the top of your list of Dream11 captaincy contenders.
