Pierre Gasly and his partner Kika Gomez were recently seen performing the famous "hands in" trend with their pet dog Simba. Gomez recently posted a video of the trend on her official Instagram story.

Among many online trends, the hands-in pet trend has been going viral on various social media platforms. In this trend, two people place their hands on each other as if they are teaming up and waiting for their pet to do the same. Since dogs naturally put their hands on their pet parent whenever they want something, this trend mainly started with pet dogs.

After placing their hands on each other, people then wait for their pet dog to put its paw on their hands.

Alpine driver Pierre Gasly and his girlfriend Kika Gomez recently tried this wholesome trend during F1's summer break. In the clip, both were seen sitting cross-legged on the ground opposite to each other. They then placed their hands on each other's and waited for their pet dog, Simba, to respond.

Though the ideal response would have been that Simba places its paw on their hands, the poodle simply crossed the hand bridge created by Gasly and Gomez, causing the couple to share a laugh.

When it comes to racing, Pierre Gasly did not have the best first half of the season with Alpine. The French driver is currently 15th in the drivers' championship with only six points. His teammate, Esteban Ocon, who will leave the team after 2024, is down in 17th with five points.

Pierre Gasly wants to build a long-term future with Alpine similar to how Lewis Hamilton did with Mercedes

Pierre Gasly explained how he wanted to build a long-lasting relationship with the same team and group of people. He cited the example of Lewis Hamilton sticking with the same team to build a deeper connection with them to succeed.

Speaking to "Motorsport.com" recently, the Frenchman explained that this deeper bond allows team members and drivers to openly and honestly discuss issues and praise each other.

“It's no secret why you see guys like Lewis [Hamilton] working so long with the same race engineer and people sticking with people they know, because you build that trust and that communication process where no one's afraid of telling things how they are, whether it's good or bad," Gasly explained.
“Over a full season there are a couple of situations where it makes you make the right choice or the right change because they understand exactly what you need and that's where you find the last few hundredths of performance,” he added.

While Esteban Ocon decides to leave Alpine after 2024, Pierre Gasly has extended his contract with the team and is committed to rising to the top of the grid with them.
