Red Bull team boss Christian Horner recently wrote an emotional message thanking and praising Daniel Ricciardo as he leaves the RB team and F1. Even before the Singapore GP, several rumors emerged that the race at Marina Bay could be Ricciardo's last.

It has been a topic of discussion ever since the 2024 F1 season began, particularly because Ricciardo struggled to keep up with his teammate Yuki Tsunoda, and Red Bull was known for switching drivers who were not performing.

On 26 September, RB finally announced that Ricciardo would leave the team and be replaced by Liam Lawson for the remainder of the 2024 F1 season.

Bidding Ricciardo a farewell, Horner posted several pictures of the driver on his official social media platform. The Red Bull boss praised the Australian's upbeat persona and stated that he would always have a special part in Red Bull's legacy in the sport.

"From the moment you arrived at Red Bull it was obvious you were so much more than just a driver. Your constant enthusiasm, sense of humour and attitude will leave an indelible legacy on the Team here in Milton Keynes and F1 as a whole. Thank you for the wins, smiles, songs (and I wish I could say the shoeys), you will always be a special part of the Red Bull Family," Horner wrote.
"8 wins, 32 podiums, 1329 points. These statistics and accolades are not the only measure of who you are and what you have achieved. Thank you Daniel," he added.

Ricciardo has been in the Red Bull family since 2008, during his Formula Renault 2.0 days. He has been nurtured by Horner since then and started working with Red Bull's boss when he entered F1 with Toro Rosso in 2012.

Daniel Ricciardo wrote an emotional farewell message after leaving RB

After RB and Red Bull officially announced Daniel Ricciardo's departure, the F1 driver wrote an emotional message about his career on his official social media handles.

In the message, he first expressed how much he loved the sport and thanked all the team members he has ever worked with. He also thanked his fans and mentioned how their passion for the sport has sometimes surpassed his own. In the end, he said that he would wait for the next adventure, but would never want to change how his career in F1 panned out.

"I’ve loved this sport my whole life. It’s wild and wonderful and been a journey. To the teams and individuals that have played their part, thank you. To the fans who love the sport sometimes more than me haha thank you. It’ll always have its highs and lows but it’s been fun and truth be told I wouldn’t change it. Until the next adventure," Ricciardo wrote.

Daniel Ricciardo raced in 258 Grand Prix and won eight of them, bagged three pole positions, and scored 1329 points in his career.
