Pierre Gasly has extended his stay with Alpine F1 after signing a multi-year contract with the French team. The former Red Bull driver joined the Enstone-based team in the 2023 season and made an impressive start, claiming two podiums in his first year.

Gasly got his first podium in the Spa Sprint race where he held off the challenge from Lewis Hamilton and got another podium in the main race in Zandvoort after he benefited from Sergio Perez's late 5-second penalty. In his first year with the team, he scored 67 points and finished ahead of his teammate Esteban Ocon, who had been with Alpine since 2020.

In his official statement on the team's website, Pierre Gasly mentioned that he felt 'very much at home' at Alpine and was happy to be a "real part" of the teams projects.

“I feel very much at home at this great team. I enjoy being a real part of both the Formula 1 project and the wider Alpine Cars vision. I’ve been officially here for over 18 months and it has always been the plan to build a long-term project with the Team."

Commenting on the French team's recent resurgence, Gasly added that he was happy with the changes made by the team to score points in the last three races:

"I am happy with the changes made, the hard work, and the direction the team is taking. There is a lot of potential in this team’s personnel and resources. I’m excited for what is to come in the future and right now I’m focusing on the everyday details that we are putting in to improve our performances.” he added.
