Former seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher's former manager Willi Weber claimed that he was not invited to the wedding of Gina-Marie Schumacher on 29 September. The 27-year-old daughter of the German legend got married to her longtime partner at their family home in Majorca, Spain.

The ceremony was an intimate affair with close family and friends in attendance and a strict no phones policy for the guests arriving to attend the event. The wedding was also reportedly the first occasion in almost 11 years that the former Ferrari driver made a public appearance after his skiing accident in 2013.

However, Wili Weber, who was Michael Schumacher's right-hand man for most of his racing career, was noticeably excluded from the ceremony. The German told news outlet Bild:

"I have had no contact with the family for over 10 years… I can barely remember what even happened. I wasn't invited, but I wouldn't have attended the wedding even if I had been invited."
"My health isn't good at the moment. I wouldn't have wanted to fly to Majorca. I wish her the best of luck and I hope she has found the right man, that's always important."

Willi Weber provides an update on his relationship with Michael Schumacher

Willi Weber, who has also managed Ralf Schumacher, Nico Hülkenberg, and Timo Scheider, stated that Michael Schumacher was "more like a son" to him and was one of his best friends.

As per Give Me Sport, the 82-year-old said:

"Michael was one of my best friends. More like a son that I never had. Nobody knows exactly what’s going on with him today, so I don’t want to comment any further."

The German manager added that he blamed himself for not visiting the former Ferrari driver in the hospital after the skiing accident in the Alps in December 2013, saying to Bild:

“It was my fault that I didn’t visit Michael after the accident and stand by him… Because I thought the media reports were exaggerated… I thought I’d better wait a few days and then everything would be fine."
"But it was too late. For a long time, I blamed myself for not reacting immediately. Since then, I’ve said goodbye to Michael in my heart in order to find peace again."

Michael Schumacher's family has been secretive about providing health updates to the public as they want to maintain the privacy of the seven-time world champion. Apart from the inner circle, which includes family members, manager Sabine Kelm, and some friends from F1 circles, no one knows the true state of the former Mercedes driver currently.

Both Felipe Massa and Jean Todt, who are part of the inner circle, have provided hints regarding Schumacher's health and have claimed that he wasn't the same as he was during his F1 days.
