Former seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher's brother Ralf Schumacher claimed that the latter wanted to be a world champion like the Ferrari legend but "wasn't good enough". The 55-year-old made his debut with Jordan in 1991 before jumping to Benetton in 1992 where he won his first two titles in 1994 and 1995.

He left the team after winning his second title for the Scuderia in 1996 and took them to glory from 1999 to 2004 while adding five world championships of his own from 2000 to 2004. However, Michael Schumacher's younger brother Ralf wasn't as successful in F1 despite racing for a decade with teams like Jordan and Williams F1.

Speaking with Formel1.de, Ralf Schumacher, who won six races during his time, spoke about his F1 career in comparison to his brother and reflected:

"What should I do? Of course, I would have liked to be the world champion. But it just wasn't meant to be. We weren't good enough. Maybe I wasn't good enough at times, and maybe I had the wrong priorities in my private life here and there. That could all be the case."
"But since I'm not a person of the past, I have to say: I would have liked more success - but I'm still happy with my life. It's definitely nice to have been perceived in such a way that I could win races, that I was fast enough in my Formula 1 career, and that I could make a difference here and there. But no more and no less." Ralf said.

Ralf Schumacher chimes in on brother Michael Schumacher's health

Former F1 driver and pundit Ralf Schumacher stated that he missed Michael Schumacher of the old days and claimed that life wasn't fair while referring to the latter's skiing accident in 2013 that left him in a medically induced coma for years.

Speaking with the German magazine Bunte, the 49-year-old said:

"Unfortunately, sometimes life isn't fair. We have to accept it. When I see his children Gina-Maria and Mick, my heart smiles. If someone in the family is looking for my advice, I'm there. They go their own way. I miss the Michael of the old days. Life is unfair from time to time.
"Michael was very lucky throughout his life. But then there was this tragic accident. Michael wasn't only my brother. When we were kids, he was also my coach and mentor. He taught me literally everything about kart racing." he said.

Few updates have been provided to the public regarding Michael Schumacher's health over the past decade, with his family keeping a close lid on the situation and keeping the matter private amongst the inner circle ever since the accident.
