Former F1 driver David Coulthard praised Lando Norris' dominant performance at the Singapore GP, drawing comparisons between the young Brit's performance and F1 legends Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher, and Lewis Hamilton.

Norris won the street race at Marina Bay in commanding fashion, finishing 21 seconds ahead of his title rival Max Verstappen and a whopping 41 seconds ahead of his McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri, who claimed the final podium position.

Former McLaren and Red Bull driver David Coulthard was full of praise for Norris after his dominant Singapore GP victory. Coulthard remarked that Norris and the MCL38 were working in perfect harmony, delivering a performance, which he compared to those of multiple world champions Senna, Schumacher, and Hamilton.

"What a performance. Human and machine in perfect harmony. Lando is so humble and so approachable, he doesn’t realise how great and significant his performances are right now," Coulthard said on Channel 4.
"I want to put him in the sort of Senna, Schumacher, Hamilton at his best, type performances. We can all win a Grand Prix by getting a bit lucky, but this was exceptional," he added.

Lando Norris started on pole for the Singapore GP and led every lap to the checkered flag. While he held the fastest lap, RB driver Daniel Ricciardo nicked it away in the final laps. Despite a few close calls, including brushing the barriers, Norris avoided any damage and secured his third career victory.

With six rounds left in the 2024 season, Norris is 52 points behind leader Max Verstappen. McLaren sits atop the Constructors' standings, 41 points ahead of Red Bull Racing.

Former F1 champion, Nico Rosberg insists Red Bull will be "scared" after Lando Norris' dominant showing in the Singapore GP. Having already lost the lead in the Constructors' championship to McLaren, Rosberg insists Norris has a realistic chance of winning the remaining six rounds.

"That’s going to have Red Bull scared, because with this speed to the end of the year, it’s realistic that Lando can really win all the remaining races. It’s almost impossible for a Max to finish second all the time because of Oscar being there also," he told Sky Sports.

The former Mercedes driver added that Oscar Piastri taking points away from Verstappen will also be a concern for the reigning champion and Red Bull.

"Oscar has been doing such a great job. Generally, he’s going to be taking points away from Max so that’s a big problem." he added.

Formula 1 is on a three-week hiatus before action resumes at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) for the United States Grand Prix, scheduled for October 18-20.
