Aston Martin driver Lance Stroll claimed that he is undeterred by critics as his season with the Silverstone-based team progresses. The Canadian driver's contract expires at the end of the year but it is unclear as of yet if he has signed a new deal for 2025.

Since his father, Lawrence Stroll owns the team, many have speculated that he will continue at Aston Martin.

Speaking with TSN, Lance Stroll mentioned that the tag of 'pay driver' hasn't left him.

“It’s kind of just what my career’s been. I’ve dealt with that over the years, but I do my talking on the track,” Stroll said.

He also clarified that he has no intention of leaving the British team as he believes that they are on a 'super exciting' trajectory.

“We’re on a super exciting trajectory and project as Aston Martin. I’m much more excited to be part of this journey than just going to another team to say that I could be driving somewhere else. It’s the very early days with stuff to be decided for next year, but I’m super committed to being here," he added.

Aston Martin team boss gives his take on Lance Stroll's future in F1

Aston Martin F1 team principal Mike Krack stated that they will further discuss Lance Stroll's future with the team as the year-end nears but claimed that the team is 'his home'.

As per GPBlog, Krack said,

"We are in good exchange for the situation. We know that Aston Martin is Lance’s home. There's already enough going on and I think soon we will have to communicate."

In the pre-race press conference at the 2024 F1 Canadian GP, the 25-year-old driver was asked about his commitment. He replied,

“Yeah, that's where my head's at, for sure. It's super exciting, everything that's happening at Silverstone, the project with the team, and how we've grown over the last few years. And we continue to grow, so it's definitely in my mind to continue being a part of that.”

Lance Stroll is currently P11 in the Drivers' Championship with 17 points, two behind RB driver Yuki Tsunoda. However, despite his recent upturn in form, the Canadian driver has not been the match to his teammate Fernando Alonso this year, who is in P9 with 41 points.

At his home race in Montreal on Sunday, Lance Stroll finished in P7 behind his teammate Alonso but could not challenge him in the race and found himself tussling with the midfield.
