Yuki Tsunoda believes that Red Bull needs to show more commitment in terms of offering him a better contract for 2025 and beyond. Speaking to the onsite media, the RB driver felt that in a competitive environment like the Milton Keynes squad, there could be potential for a promotion if Sergio Perez does not perform as per expectations.

After outperforming Daniel Ricciardo in the majority of the race weekends in 2024, the 22 year old has made himself a commodity on the drivers market with offers aplenty. He has been linked to Audi, Alpine and Haas for the 2025 season. However, Helmut Marko has recently suggested that the Milton Keynes camp plans to retain him.

Speaking to the media in Canada, Yuki Tsunoda felt that there needs to be a stronger commitment from Red Bull, hinting at a potential promotion to the senior team. In his fifth year at RB, the Japanese driver felt that if the Mexican driver did not perform, there could be an opportunity for a promotion. He is currently content with RB, but he hopes for better with discussions underway.

As reported by Planet F1, Yuki Tsunoda spoke to onsite media, saying:

“I would like to see more commitment from the contract. Obviously I'm already committed with Red Bull a lot and hopefully I can have a bit more commitment from them. There's an ongoing discussion and I want to make sure first of all we're on the same page with Red Bull after that we'll see. But I'm happy with RB.”
“Even these two years [Perez] has to still perform and in this kind of environment, anything can happen. So, congratulations to him. For me, I just keep focusing on what I'm doing and just proving myself. I just have to grow more and, at the same time, hopefully, Red Bull will understand more or see more of my progress and my potential performance and maybe [it] can change in the future,” he added.

Yuki Tsunoda admits receiving offers from teams apart from Red Bull

Yuki Tsunoda has declared that Red Bull remains a priority but admits to having received multiple offers from outside the camp. Ideally, the notion surrounding the Japanese driver is that his performances have been good enough to be promoted to the senior team; otherwise, he is a wasted community in their camp. As mentioned earlier, the RB driver has been in conversation with his current employers, but options outside the Milton Keynes camp could be a better option.

Speaking about his options for 2025 and beyond, Yuki Tsunoda said:

“The good thing is that the other teams are starting to get interested in me. I also got a couple of options from the others, which is growing. It's a good thing that I'm able to grow my value as well, especially like this interesting drivers' market. But first of all, my priority is Red Bull. I want to make sure we're on the same page because Red Bull is part of my life so far and, without them, I wouldn't achieve this much.”

According to speculation, Yuki Tsunoda is also being considered by Aston Martin Honda for 2026 and beyond. The best offer that he has received so far is from Audi, which wants him if Carlos Sainz does not sign with them. There is a strong indication that the Spanish driver has already signed with Williams, which may allow the RB driver to advance. Currently, the 22 year old is tenth in the drivers standings, having scored 19 points for his team.
