Lewis Hamilton recently received lots of praise from former Red Bull driver Mark Webber after winning the 2024 F1 British GP. This was the Brit's first win after 945 days.

The British GP was an exciting race to witness. Max Verstappen, Lando Norris, Lewis Hamilton, and George Russell had a four-way battle for the race victory at Silverstone. Furthermore, teams were compelled to devise innovative pitstop strategies due to the fluctuating weather, which also brought out the best in all 20 drivers.

In the end, Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton were able to precisely fit all the pieces of the puzzle and win the race. For Lewis Hamilton, it was his first victory in almost three years. Prior to the 2024 F1 British GP, his last race win was in Saudi Arabia in 2021. Hamilton was quite emotional after winning a race. He was welling up while chatting with his team through the radio on the victory lap at Silverstone.

Speaking to Channel 4 after the race, Mark Webber showered the seven-time world champion with praise. He stated how Hamilton became a beast and hunted for victory in the British GP. The former Red Bull driver also stated that he made difficult decisions with the team and steered them to victory.

“It was beast mode - home turf. I think it was the back of the first stint when they're talking about rain coming, this is him smelling blood at that point. That's like a shark in the ocean. He grabbed that race by the scruff of the neck, the key decisions, he drove the team. ‘This is what I want. This is when I want it, and I'm going to deliver.’ So cool heads,” Webber said. Red Bull senior advisor praises Lewis Hamilton for his on-track prowess at Silverstone

Red Bull senior Helmut Marko also praised Lewis Hamilton for his performance at Silverstone. Speaking to the German wing of Sky Sports, the 81-year-old praised his tire management skills and his ability to read a race and make decisions accordingly. He even labeled the seven-time world champion a "master".

"You can only congratulate Hamilton. He held up well on a dry track. You then see his strength in terms of tyre management. We could see that his tyres had already started to grain slightly. And we thought it would be OK, but that shows what a master he is, who can read a race and who challenges the tyres just right so that they don’t collapse," Marko said. (via PlanetF1)
"Lewis Hamilton did a great job, and that just shows how much experience and speed he still has," he added.

After winning the 2024 F1 British GP, Hamilton remains in eighth place in the drivers' championship table with 110 points. The table is currently led by Red Bull's Max Verstappen with 255 points.
