Ferrari ace Charles Leclerc recently opened up about his relationship with future teammate Lewis Hamilton. Leclerc emphasized that they have enjoyed a good rapport in the past and have gotten to know each other better following the announcement earlier this season.

Leclerc made his F1 debut in 2018 and was promoted to Ferrari the following season. Since then, he has battled Hamilton for race victories on several occasions, even earning praise from the Mercedes driver when he came close to winning the 2019 Bahrain GP.

In a recent interview with beIN Sports during the Singapore GP weekend, Leclerc was asked about his relationship with future teammate Hamilton. Leclerc emphasized that they share many common interests, including music and fashion.

"We always had a good relationship in the past. But since, when we knew that we’ll be teammates from next year, we got to know each other a bit more. We spoke quite often about our common passion, like with music for example, or fashion," the 26-year-old said.

While sharing common off-track interests, both drivers haven't engaged in conversations about racing. The Monegasque driver said that both of them are focused on finishing the ongoing season before diving into more detailed discussions.

"We didn't speak yet too much about racing in itself because he's still fully focused on his Mercedes season and I'm still focused on this season...but it will come."

Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc have both ventured into music, with the former being covert about his debut feature. Hamilton was featured in Christina Aguilera's 2018 album under the alias XNDA, revealing the identity two years later. Meanwhile, Leclerc, a self-taught pianist, has released his piano compositions.

Charles Leclerc insists Lewis Hamilton's arrival is a huge learning opportunity

Charles Leclerc praised his future teammate Lewis Hamilton and emphasized that driving the same car as him would present a huge learning opportunity. He also expressed his excitement about the new challenge ahead.

"Lewis is the most successful driver in F1 history and for me to be able to drive the same car as Lewis is, first, a huge opportunity to learn from the best ever, as well as a huge motivation to show what I'm capable of. So, I'm really excited about this new challenge," he told Sky Sports F1.

Aiming to bring back championship glory to Ferrari, Leclerc looks forward to the upcoming seasons and working with the seven-time champion.

With six races remaining in the 2024 F1 season, Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc have each secured two victories. Leclerc currently sits third in the drivers standings with 245 points, while Hamilton is in sixth place with 174 points.
