Aston Martin team boss Mike Krack voiced his concerns over the team's performance ahead of the 2024 F1 British GP. He believes that Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll would face another tough challenge at Silverstone as they did in the past few races.

The European triple-header consisting of Spain, Austria, and England has not been the best for Aston Martin. Both Alonso and Stroll struggled to keep up in the midfield. In both Spanish and Austrian GPs, the team and it's drivers scored no points at all. In contrast, the British team had one of the fastest cars this time around in the 2023 F1 season.

As quoted by Soymotor, Mike Krack admitted that the upcoming British GP would once again pose a serious challenge for the team, especially because the AMR24 lacked performance on the high-speed corners.

"Silverstone will be another challenge for the team; with its long and high-speed curves, it is unlikely that the strengths of the AMR24 will be tested... but that does not mean that it does not have opportunities for us," Krack said.

Despite that, he hoped that the team could capitalize on the unpredictable incidents that could take place in the race, similar to what happened during the Austrian GP with Max Verstappen and Lando Norris.

"We remain very focused and ready to take advantage of any opportunity that presents itself to us. We have to be prepared to capitalize; the last laps of the Austrian Grand Prix are a reminder that anything can happen," he added.

Despite mentioning that Aston Martin could struggle at the British GP, Mike Krack hoped that the team could still bring entertainment to the fans during it's home race at Silverstone.

As per Soymotor, he initially stated that the team's pitstops and other operations have been spot on. Furthermore, he explained that Aston Martin also knows what to do in order to improve their overall on-track performance.

"Operationally, we have done very well this season. Once again, our pit stops were very good in Austria. We are on the right track. In terms of performance, we have to do better, but we know the steps we must take," Krack said.

He later praised the fans and hoped to give them a good spectacle at the team's home Grand Prix.

"In the meantime, we will do our best this weekend to give our fans something to rejoice in in our home race...The atmosphere created by the local public throughout the weekend is the best of the year," he added.

After the Austrian GP, Aston Martin is in fifth with 58 points in the constructors' championship.
