Former Red Bull driver David Coulthard reacted to Daniel Ricciardo's Singapore GP photo dump on his official Instagram handle. The race at Marina Bay was the Australian's last race in F1 with Racing Bulls.

During Singapore GP, the rumors of him being removed reached their peak and eventually turned out to be true. After the race, Ricciardo hugged many in the F1 paddock, including his team members and other drivers. A few days after the Singapore GP, Red Bull officially announced his departure.

Recently, Ricciardo posted several pictures from the race weekend in Singapore. The pictures contained him hanging out with his garage team, McLaren's Lando Norris, Oscar Piastri, and others. The pictures also showcased his race suit and helmet for his last race.

Seeing these pictures, former Red Bull driver David Coulthard was unable to contain himself and reacted wholeheartedly. He humorously hinted that he was crying by saying that he was only "cutting onions".

Ever since Daniel Ricciardo started the 2024 F1 season, questions arose about whether he would continue with RB or move up to Red Bull. However, his on-track performance quickly shifted the rumors that he could be removed by RB due to his lackluster results. The Honey Badger was not able to keep up with his teammate, Yuki Tsunoda, and only managed to score 12 points in 18 races in the 2024 season.

David Coulthard shares the rumor that Daniel Ricciardo already knew about his departure prior to the Singapore GP

Former Red Bull driver David Coulthard also shared a rumor that he heard about Daniel Ricciardo already knowing about his departure from RB before the Singapore GP.

Speaking on the Formula For Success podcast, Coulthard said that though the Australian driver knew about the departure, he decided not to make it public until after the race. Eventually, his removal was announced by Red Bull on 26 September 2024.

"I think one thing that's interesting and [it's a] rumor rather than I've seen it with my own eyes, was that he actually knew from a few races back that it would be finishing in Singapore. And he had the opportunity obviously to make that public and he chose not to," Coulthard said.
