Alpine driver Pierre Gasly is reportedly looking for a move away next season. This rumor comes on the heels of Esteban Ocon's confirmed departure from Alpine in 2025.

While teams like Aston Martin and RB have been on a consistent rise in recent seasons, turmoil has marred Alpine F1's camp. With the departures of the likes of veteran driver Fernando Alonso and former team principal Otmar Szafnauer, the Enstone-based outfit took another hit after it was announced that Esteban Ocon, who joined the team in 2020, will part ways with the team next season. And now, according to a report from formu1a.uno, Gasly sees "little reasons" to continue with the French team.

Earlier, Alpine had failed to secure McLaren youngster Oscar Piastri last season. The ongoing season has not been any kinder for the team, which once set sights on moving up the midfield. The A524 car has shown numerous drawbacks, exacerbating the team's difficulties. The resignation of Technical Director Matt Harman just as the season kicked off added to the team's woes.

Amidst this backdrop, Pierre Gasly, who joined Alpine in the 2023 season following the Oscar Piastri fiasco, is reportedly looking for opportunities beyond Alpine for next season.

Pierre Gasly, a former Red Bull driver, had signed for Alpine in the 2023 season after the Oscar Piastri fiasco. The 28-year-old Frenchman is signed on a multi-year agreement and is ranked 15th in the F1 Drivers' standings after nine races.

Flavio Briatore signed by Alpine as executive advisor

In a bid to stabilize the team, Alpine has appointed former Renault Formula 1 team boss Flavio Briatore as an executive advisor. Briatore's return marks a controversial yet potentially strategic move by Alpine.

The 74-year-old, who was forced to resign from Renault in 2009 following the infamous 2008 Singapore Grand Prix fixing scandal, has been brought back by Luca de Meo, CEO of Alpine's parent company Renault.

Team principal Bruno Famin expressed optimism about Briatore's return. He said in an official release (via BBC):

"Flavio is going to bring his experience. He is a 40-year experience guy in F1. He knows how to operate a winning team. He has a good record and a number of world titles and he will bring this fighting spirit to the team."

When questioned about Briatore's controversial past, Famin remained focused on the future. He stated:

"I don’t really mind about the past. I am always looking to the future and how we get better. Flavio can help us. He has a very high level knowledge of F1. He knows a lot of people."

Alpine is ranked eighth in the F1 Constructors' standings. The team has secured a mere five points in nine races.
