The 2024 F1 Azerbaijan GP is set to commence with the first two practice sessions on Friday. In almost every race weekend, teams bring important upgrades to their cars, with some form of development continuing on the current machines even in the latter stages of the season.

In the Italian GP, almost all teams brought major upgrades to their cars. Ferrari in particular brought a massive upgrade package which allowed them to push forward in their race to the top step. With the help of the new parts and great tire management, Ferrari's Charles Leclerc won the race at Monza.

Coming into Baku, not many teams have introduced new parts for their car. Here is a short list of three teams that brought upgrades.

List of upgrades brought by teams for the 2024 F1 Azerbaijan GP

Red Bull

  • Floor Body (Performance)

In recent times, the defending world champions have struggled quite a bit in the 2024 F1 season. Red Bull and Max Verstappen have not won a race in the last six race weekends, which is massive considering their dominant run in 2022 and 2023.

In Italian GP, they brought front and rear wings that complied with the nature of the Monza track. The wings reduced the drag and load around the car.

For the Azerbaijan GP, however, they have only brought a new floor body with a revised floor tunnel geometry. This change is to improve the air pressure underneath the car and overall aerodynamics.

Aston Martin

  • Rear Corner (Performance)

In the Italian GP, Aston Martin struggled quite a lot as Fernando Alonso finished P11 and Lance Stroll ended up in P19. The team currently stands in fifth with only 74 points. Though they are at the top of the midfield, the gap between them and the top teams is massive.

In Monza, they brought new front, beam, and rear wings to alter the load and drag particularly for the historic track.

Coming into the Azerbaijan GP, they have only brought a new lower deflector located in the rear corner of the car. This deflector's bottom edge has been revised to modify local airflow and improve the area's performance.

  • Front Wing (Circuit Specific)

RB brought a massive package in the Italian GP last weekend with front, rear, and beam wings, floor body, halo, and even mirrors. However, these parts couldn't help them in the race as Yuki Tsunoda retired from the race after colliding with Nico Hulkenberg, and Daniel Ricciardo only managed to secure P13.

For Azerbaijan GP, the Italian-British team only brought a new front wing with a reduced camber on the flap to reduce the overall load on the wing.
