West Indies (WI) will take on Uganda (UGA) in match number 18 of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Sunday, June 9. The Group C match will begin at 6:00 am IST (June 9) and 8:30 pm local time (June 8).

Two-time champions and co-hosts, West Indies began their World Cup campaign with a shaky five-wicket win over Papua New Guinea (PNG) in Guyana. Bowling first, they did reasonably well to restrict PNG to 136-8. In the chase, though, they stumbled to 97-5, but Roston Chase (42* off 27) guided them home.

After going down to Afghanistan by 125 runs, Uganda registered a famous three-wicket win over Papua New Guinea in Guyana. Bowling first, they came up with a sensational effort to bundle out PNG for 77. In the chase, Uganda lost seven wickets, but got over the line in 18.2 overs.

What is Uganda's record in T20I cricket?

Uganda have played a total of 93 matches in the T20I format, winning 70 and losing 20. Three of the matches they have featured in produced a no-result.

Their first T20I match was against Botswana in Kampala in May 2019 in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Africa Region Final. They won the contest by 52 runs. Batting first, Uganda put up 142-7 on the board and then bowled out Botswana for 90 in 18 overs.

Before the 2024 T20 World Cup, Uganda hammered Kenya by 106 runs in the African Games 3rd place play-off match. Batting first, Uganda scored 206-6 and then restricted Kenya to 100-9.
