Washington Freedom will take on San Francisco Unicorns in the Major League Cricket (MLC) 2024 final at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas on Sunday, July 29. Washington Freedom booked their place in the summit clash by defeating San Francisco Unicorns in the Qualifier by seven wickets. The Unicorns then confirmed their berth in the final by beating Texas Super Kings by 10 runs in the Challenger.
Washington Freedom will believe that they have a slight psychological edge over their opponents in the final. When the sides clashed in the qualifier, Washington Freedom came up with a commanding performance. Rachin Ravindra starred with 4-11 as San Francisco Unicorns were bowled out for 145. Travis Head then clobbered 77* off 44 as Glenn Maxwell 54* off 23 as Freedom cruised home.
To their credit, San Francisco Unicorns lifted themselves admirably in the Challenger against Texas Super Kings. Batting first, they posted 200-6 as Finn Allen clobbered 101* off 53. In the chase, Devon Conway (62* off 38), Faf du Plessis (45 off 22) and Joshua Tromp (56* off 36) gave the Unicorns a scare, but they held their nerve to seal a place in the final.
