The Cricket Association of Uttarakhand (CAU) is all set to host the inaugural edition of the Uttarakhand Premier League (UPL) 2024. The upcoming T20 tournament will run from September 15 to 22. All the matches of the first season will be played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Dehradun.
Pithoragarh Hurricanes, Dehradun Warriors, Haridwar Spring Elmas, USN Indians, and Nainital SG Pipers are the five teams participating in the upcoming tournament. Each team will take on the other five sides in a single round-robin format.
After the conclusion of 10 league-stage matches, the top-ranked team will advance to the final while second and third-placed sides will compete in an eliminator to reach the summit clash.
The franchise-based tournament includes captains Akash Madhwal (Pithoragarh Hurricanes) and Aditya Tare (Dehradun Warriors), who were a part of the Mumbai Indians side during the IPL (Indian Premier League).
