On Saturday, July 20, Trichy Grand Cholas clashed against Nellai Royal Kings in the 18th match of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2024 at the Indian Cement Company Ground, Tirunelveli.
Trichy Grand Cholas won the toss and elected to field first. The Kings scored 177/9 in the allocated 20 overs. Arun Karthik played a captain's knock with 84 valuable runs from 51 balls, smashing 10 fours and two sixes.
Rithik Easwaran contributed with a composed 29 off 23 balls, while Sonu Yadav provided valuable support with 17 off nine deliveries. Saravana Kumar took four wickets for 30 runs in four wickets. Athisayaraj Davidson and Anthony Dhas took two wickets each, while Sanjay Yadav claimed one wicket.
On the other hand, Trichy Grand Cholas had a good start but lost wickets at regular intervals. They eventually built up a partnership with Jafar Jamal and Shyam Sundar scoring 39 and 31, respectively.
