TNPL 2024: How did the IPL players fare in Chepauk Super Gillies vs Dindigul Dragons, Match 13? ft. Ravichandran Ashwin & Varun Chakravarthy

The 13th match of the season between Chepauk Super Gillies and Dindigul Dragons was reduced to seven overs per side due to rain. Ravichandran Ashwin opened the innings for the Dragons along with Shivam Singh and remained unbeaten on 45 runs off 20 deliveries.

The veteran spinner's innings helped the Dragons post a total of 64 runs for the loss of six wickets. Abhishek Tanwar and Ganeshan Periyaswamy took two wickets each for the Super Gillies.

The Super Gilles lost their first wicket on the very first delivery. Narayan Jagadeesan and Baba Aparajith added 65 runs for the second wicket. They helped the Super Gillies win the match by nine wickets in 4.5 overs. Jagadeesan scored 32 runs off 14 deliveries, while Aparajith made 31 runs off 14 deliveries. Abhishek won the Player of the Match award for his bowling performance.

The Super Gillies have won two back-to-back matches after losing their first two games, while the Dragons have lost their last two matches. The Super Gillies have now won eight out of 11 matches against the Dragons.

Ravichandran Ashwin (Dindigul Dragons)

The offspinner is captaining the Dragons this season. He has opened the innings for the team in the three matches this season. Ashwin made a double-digit score for the first time this season in this match.

He made 45* runs off just 20 deliveries and hit three fours and four sixes. It is his third-highest individual score in the Tamil Nadu Premier League. Ashwin gave away 23 runs in his spell of 1.5 overs.


Varun Chakravarthy (Dindigul Dragons)

Varun bowled one over in the match and gave away 13 runs. He failed to pick a wicket. He has taken two wickets in three matches this season at an average of 31.


Sandeep Warrier (Dindigul Dragons)

The 33-year-old pacer played for the Gujarat Titans this season in the IPL. He took the wicket of D Santhosh Kumar on his very first delivery in the match on Sunday. Sandeep bowled just a single over and gave away 15 runs.
