The Ashes 2013: England retain the winning squad for 2nd Test

England have retained the same squad for the 2nd Test which won them the 1st Test by a 14-run margin

England named an unchanged 13-man squad for second Ashes Test against Australia at Lord’s beginning on Thursday.

There were rumours that Steven Finn might get dropped, but it seems Flower and co. has kept faith in the erratic seamer, who was not at his best in second innings, and decided against tinkering with the winnings squad. Though Finn may still have to contest for a place in the final XI with all-rounder Tim Bresnan and pacer Graham Onions waiting on the bench.

In the first Test match at Trent Bridge, England defeated Australia by 14 runs on the final day.

National selector Geoff Miller said, “We have selected the same squad as this continues to provide options for Alastair Cook and Andy Flower.”

England squad: Alastair Cook (capt), Joe Root, Jonathan Trott, Kevin Pietersen, Ian Bell, Jonny Bairstow, Matt Prior (wk), Tim Bresnan, Stuart Broad, Graeme Swann, Steven Finn, James Anderson, Graham Onions.
