The only previous meeting that took place between the Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals was at Jaipur earlier in the season. James Faulkner’s five-wicket haul helped the hosts restrict the Sunrisers to 144 for nine. Then it was Shane Watson’s 53-ball 98* which helped the Royals chase down the target with 13 deliveries to spare, registering a comprehensive eight-wicket victory in the process.

This season, the difference in the batting and bowling of Sunrisers is highlighted by the following stat: Sunrisers have the lowest scoring rate (7.02) and also the lowest economy rate (7.22) of all teams this season.

With the completion of this tie, the Rajasthan Royals have finished their league fixtures this season. Though they have already qualified for the playoffs, they will only know about their opponent and the date of their playoff match when all the teams finish their respective fixtures.

Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad stay put at home to play their final league fixture of the season against the Kolkata Knight Riders on May 19.
