Team India skipper Rohit Sharma has accomplished some of the most incredible batting feats on the cricketing field over his illastrious career. While he has built his legacy with remarkable consistency and impact in all three formats, his numbers and performances in ODIs have been a cut above the rest.

The 37-year-old holds several ODI batting records, including the only batter to ever score multiple double centuries. Rohit also has the highest-ever ODI score of 264* against Sri Lanka in 2014.

The champion batter has also shone brightly in ODI World Cups, holding the record for most centuries with seven.

Despite all these breathtaking numbers, Rohit has endured several lows in his 265 ODI games, especially in the first third of his career when he batted in the middle-order.

Amidst the domination of all kinds of bowlers in the colored Indian jersey, Rohit has been dismissed through almost all the possible ways.

On that note, let us breakdown Rohit Sharma's ODI dismissal modes and see how often he has been bowled, trapped LBW and stumped in his stellar career.

#1 Bowled

Rohit Sharma has been castled 39 times in his ODI career with his average a lowly 33.53 in the innings that ended with him cleaned up.

Unsurprisingly, he has been bowled the most in India with 15 such dismissals, while Sri Lanka occupies the top position among away nations where Rohit has been bowled. Sri Lanka is also the team against whom the legendary batter has been bowled the most with 11.

Out of his 39 bowled dismissals, 24 have come in Asia and nine in ICC events - World Cup (7) and Champions Trophy (2).

Rohit was cleaned up the most in his ODI career in 2023 (7) when he was at his most attacking and often taking chances from ball one. Yet in those seven innings he was castled last year, he averaged a stunning 61.28.

India's record when Rohit gets bowled is impressive, with 28 wins and only 10 losses (1 No Result).

#2 LBW

The near carbon copy and only a slightly better version of being bowled is getting trapped LBW.

Rohit has suffered the LBW dismissal mode 23 times in ODIs and yet there are some glaring similarities to his bowled splits. The 37-year-old has struggled to get his bat down in time or in line the most against Sri Lanka among opposition sides.

Rohit has falled LBW against the Lankans an incredible 10 times - almost half of his 23 such dismissals in ODIs. Furthermore, all 10 of his LBW dismissals against the Lankans have come in Sri Lanka - 2 more than such a dismissal even in India.

An average of 15 in his 10 LBW dismissals against Sri Lanka in ODIs is an indication that the Lions have trapped Rohit early in his innings more often than not.

Yet, the champion batter has never been out LBW in the Trans-Tasmanian nations (Australia and New Zealand) in 44 ODIs.

India have a reasonably impressive record as a team when Rohit has been dismissed LBW, winning 15 and losing 7 with one tie.

In 38 ICC matches, the stylish right-hander has been trapped LBW only twice - an indication that targeting Rohit's pads might not be the greatest plan.

#3 Stumped

Great batters almost always do not get stumped and Rohit has been no different, with only 3 out of his 221 dismissals transpiring in that manner.

Sri Lanka, Australia and New Zealand have each managed to dismiss Rohit stumped in his ODI career. Off-spinner Suraj Randiv in 2010, leggie Adam Zampa and left-arm spinner Mitchell Santner have been the only bowlers to deceive Rohit and have him stumped by the wicket-keeper in 2010 and 2019 (the last two), respectively.

Unfortunately for India, their record isn't too good when Rohit gets out stumped, winning only one out of three ODIs.

Yet, the Indian skipper averages a healty 41 with 2 half-centuries in the three ODI innings that have ended in him being stumped.
