South Africa Champions took on England Champions in the World Championship of Legends 2024 at Edgbaston, Birmingham. The England Champions cruised past South Africa as they won their game with nine overs to spare and nine wickets in hand.

The second encounter of the day between West Indies Champions and Pakistan Champions ended in a 29-run win for Pakistan at Edgbaston.

England won the toss and elected to field first against South Africa. The decision to bowl first paid instant dividends as Ryan Sidebottom and Ajmal Shahzad got early breakthroughs in the form of Jacques Kallis and Richard Levi.

Herschelle Gibbs was the top-scorer for South Africa with 26 runs off 19 balls as they were bowled out for 137 runs in 19.2 overs. Owais Shah and Ravi Bopara were the highest wicket-takers for the England Champions, taking three wickets each.

Kevin Pietersen (28 off 11), Phil Mustard (84 off 35), and Ian Bell (18 off 20) made a mockery of the chase as England Champions won the game by nine wickets.

In the second game of the day, Pakistan posted a competitive 194/8 in 20 overs against West Indies Champions. After choosing to bat first at Edgbaston, Sharjeel Khan (35 off 15) and Sohaib Maqsood (22 off 12) gave Pakistan a blistering start, while Shoaib Malik held fort in the middle order, scoring 54 off 41 balls. Finishing touches from Shahid Afridi (16 off 10) and Aamer Yamin (29 off 11) helped Pakistan reach an above-par score.

Chasing 195 seemed a bit much for the West Indies Champions, as they felt short of their target by 29 runs. Dwayne Smith top scored for the Windies, scoring 65 off 46 deliveries, while Sohail Tanvir (four wickets) and Shahid Afridi (three wickets) ran riot for Pakistan.
