Jacques Snyman and Sarel Erwee's partnership steers South Africa to first win

South Africa won the toss and elected to bowl. Pakistan lost their first wicket for just 17 runs, but Sharjeel Khan and Sohaib Maqsood's 85-run for the second wicket helped them recover. Pakistan then lost two quick wickets, but a partnership of 75 runs for the fifth wicket between Shoaib Malik and Abdul Razzaq helped Pakistan reach 210/4.

Sharjeel was the highest scorer and made 72 runs off 36 deliveries. Dale Steyn, Vernon Philander, Imran Tahir, and Charl Langeveldt took one wicket each.

South Africa lost their first wicket for 27 runs in the third over. Jacques Snyman and Sarel Erwee added 187 runs for the second wicket. Their unbeaten partnership helped South Africa reach the target of 211 runs in 18.3 overs with nine wickets in hand.

Snyman scored 82* runs off 47 deliveries, while Erwee remained unbeaten on a brilliant knock of 105 runs off 57 deliveries. Sohail Khan picked the only wicket for Pakistan. It was South Africa’s first win this tournament, while Pakistan lost their first game in the World Championship of Legends 2024.
