On Sunday, July 7, England Champions and Pakistan Champions met in the 10th World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2024 match at Edgbaston Stadium. Pakistan secured a 79-run win in the contest, solidifying their first spot in the points table with four wins out of four.

Australia and India retained their second and third positions, respectively, with two victories from three games. Australia have a better net run rate of +2.765 as compared to India’s -0.682.

England remain in the fourth spot, having secured one win in four matches so far. However, their NRR has taken a significant hit, dropping from 0.305 to -0.886 after their loss against Pakistan.

Meanwhile, the West Indies, who defeated South Africa on Sunday, occupy the fifth position with an NRR of -1.057. South Africa remain at the bottom of the table, having suffered three consecutive losses.

There was no movement seen in the World Championship of Legends T20 2024 points table after Pakistan’s victory.


Malik's All-Round Effort, Maqsood's 64, and Ajmal’s three-fer extend Pakistan's winning streak to four

Pakistan were asked to bat first in the 10th match of the WCL T20 2024. They faced early setbacks, losing Kamran Akmal (11) and Sharjeel Khan (13) inside the powerplay. However, a crucial 121-run partnership between Sohaib Maqsood (64) and Shoaib Malik (51) for the third wicket propelled Pakistan to a formidable 196/4.

England's Stuart Meaker was the pick of the bowlers, taking two wickets, while Chris Schofield and Darren Maddy chipped in with a wicket each.

In reply, England struggled to build momentum. Phil Mustard top-scored with 30 off 17 balls, followed by Kevin O'Brien's 24 off 17. Ian Bell and Ali Brown managed 11 runs each, but the rest of the batting lineup collapsed in single digits, leading to England being bowled out for 117 runs.

Saeed Ajmal spearheaded Pakistan's bowling attack, claiming three wickets. Abdul Razzaq took two wickets, while Aamer Yamin, Sohail Khan, and Shoaib Malik contributed with a wicket each, ensuring a comprehensive victory for Pakistan.
