Women's T20 World Cup 2024 Most Runs Updated after South Africa vs Scotland

The 11th Women's T20 World Cup 2024 match saw South Africa and Scotland lock horns at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai on Wednesday, October 9. South Africa comfortably romped home, winning by 80 runs.

Winning the toss and batting first, South Africa were given a strong start by skipper Laura Wolvaardt and Tazmin Brits, adding 64 runs for the opening stand. Wolvaardt struck a quickfire 27-ball 40 while Brits supported her with a well-made 35-ball 43.

Marizanne Kapp (43 off 24) and Sune Luus (18* off 13) then gave them a solid finish as South Africa put up a formidable total of 166/5 on the board.

In reply, Scotland Women struggled in the chase right from the start. They lost early wickets and were unable to come back into the game as they suffered a collapse. South Africa's bowlers were on the money, bundling Scotland out for just 86 in 17.5 overs.

Nonkululeko Mlaba continued her brilliant form with the ball, leading the charge with three wickets. It was an all-round bowling effort as Chloe Tryon and Nadine de Klerk picked up two wickets apiece.

South Africa moved to the top of the table in Group B at the Women's T20 World Cup 2024 with this emphatic win against Scotland.

Laura Wolvaardt remains at the top of the Women's T20 World Cup 2024 most runs list with 141 runs from three games. Tazmin Brits jumped three places to the second position with 113 runs. Danni Wyatt with 84 runs dropped a place to number three.

Beth Mooney (83) slipped from third to fourth, while Sobhana Mostary (80) fell from fourth to fifth. Marizanne Kapp (69) is in the sixth position while Sophie Devine (64) slipped a place from sixth to seventh.

Sarah Bryce (56) moved a spot up from ninth to eighth position while Nida Dar (51) dropped from seventh to ninth. Nilakshika Silva (51) slipped two places to the last position.

Nonkululeko Mlaba with eight wickets moved three places to the top of the Women's T20 World Cup 2024 bowling charts. Megan Schutt and Rosemary Mair with six wickets apiece dropped a place each to the second and third positions respectively.

Amelia Kerr with five scalps slipped from third position to fourth position in the list.
