Women's T20 World Cup 2024 Most Runs list updated after 1st Semi Final - Australia vs South Africa

Australia took on South Africa in the first semi-final match of the Women's T20 World Cup 2024. Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai hosted the clash on Thursday, October 17.

Australia batted first and posted a modest total of 134 runs for the loss of five wickets. Beth Mooney (44), Ellyse Perry (31), and Tahlia McGrath (27) were the major run-getters. Ayabonga Khaka took two wickets for South Africa.

In reply, South Africa achieved the target in 17.2 overs thanks to Anneke Bosch’s 48-ball 74-run match-winning knock. Laura Wolvaardt (42) and Tanzim Brits (15) also contributed significantly, resulting in an eight-wicket victory.

Laura Wolvaardt (190) scored 42 runs in the previous game and moved from fourth to first spot in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 most runs list. Her teammate Tazmin Brits slipped to second with 170 runs.

Similarly, Danni Wyatt (151) moved from second to third position. Harmanpreet Kaur (150) retained her fourth spot while Beth Mooney jumped to the fifth spot after scoring a 44-run knock.

Meanwhile, Sobhana Mostary (135) slipped to sixth and Australia’s Ellyse Perry (132) and Anneke Bosch (124) climbed to the next two spots, respectively. Georgia Plimmer (108) and Nat Sciver Brunt (107) complete the top 10 list.

New Zealand’s Amelia Kerr and South Africa’s Nonkululeko Mlaba are now the joint highest wicket-takers of the Women's T20 World Cup 2024 with 10 wickets. Australia’s Annabel Sutherland took two wickets and moved from fifth to third with nine wickets. Meanwhile, Megan Schutt and Afy Fletcher descended to fourth and fifth spots, respectively with eight wickets.

Rosemary Mair, Arundhati Reddy, Renuka Singh, and Sophie Molineux remained in the next five spots, respectively with seven wickets each. Sadia Iqbal is still placed 10th in the leaderboard with six wickets.
