Women's T20 World Cup 2024 Most Wickets Updated after Australia vs New Zealand

Australia Women and New Zealand Women met in the 10th Women's T20 World Cup 2024 match at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah, on Tuesday, October 8. They won comfortably by 60 runs.

Australian skipper Alyssa Healy opted to bat first and gave her team a flying start. She scored 26 (20) before Rosemary Mair gave New Zealand their first breakthrough. Beth Mooney top scored once again for the Aussies with 40 off 32. Ellyse Perry supported her well with a crucial 30-run knock.

The White Ferns made a comeback in the latter part of the innings to restrict the Aussies to 148/8. Amelia Kerr secured four wickets whereas Mair and Brooke Halliday got two each.

Coming to New Zealand's chase, they were unable to contain themselves. Megan Schutt was exceptional in the powerplay as she finished with figures of 3.2-1-3-3. Annabel Sutherland also got three wickets to her name whereas Sophie Molineux got two. Georgia Wareham and Tahlia McGrath contributed with a solitary wicket each the White Ferns were bundled out for 88.

With this magnificent 60-run win, the defending champions Australia are going strong in the tournament.

Laura Wolvaardt and Danni Wyatt retained their top two positions with 101 and 84 runs, respectively. Meanwhile, Beth Mooney struck a 43-run unbeaten knock on Tuesday and climbed to the third spot with 83 runs.

Sobhana Mostary (80) Tanzim Britts (70), and Sophie Devine (57) dropped one position each. Similarly, Nida Dar, Nilakshika Silva, and Sarah Bryce moved to the following three spots respectively with 51 runs each. Nat Sciver-Brunt completes the top 10 leaderboard with 50 runs.
