Nashra Sandhu and Gull Feroza fuel Pakistan’s big win

After winning the toss and inviting the UAE Women to bat first, Pakistan bowler Nashra Sandhu picked up two wickets in quick succession by getting rid of Esha Oza and Rinitha Rajith. Nida Dar (1/15) and Tuba Hassan (2/17) blitzed through the UAE’s batting line-up in the middle overs to reduce them to 85/6 in 16.3 overs.

Sadia Iqbal restricted the UAE’s run-flow by conceding just 11 from her four overs with two wickets to her name. By the completion of their 20 overs, the UAE managed to register just 103/8, with wicketkeeper-batter Theertha Satish herself accounting for 40 of those runs.

Chasing 104 for a win, Pakistan opener Gull Feroza smacked an unbeaten half-century and shared an unbroken 107-run partnership with Muneeba Ali (37* off 30 balls). Feroza herself top-scored in the innings, scoring 62* from 55 balls with eight boundaries. Their collective efforts helped Pakistan Women mow down UAE’s 103/8 with all their 10 wickets intact in the game.

With nearly six overs left in the bank, Pakistan’s big win also boasted their NRR as the ‘Women in Green’ finished their league-stage run on an emphatic note.
