India B off-spinner Washington Sundar dismissed India A batter KL Rahul on Day 3 of their ongoing 2024 Duleep Trophy match on Saturday, September 7. The game is being played at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

The dismissal took place on the first ball of the 49th over. Washington bowled a tossed-up delivery on off-stump. KL Rahul attempted a paddle sweep but the ball dipped sharply and turned, beating the bat and hitting the leg stump. The 32-year-old scored 37 runs off 111 balls, including four boundaries.

Here’s a video of the dismissal:

India A lost five wickets in the morning session, falling from 134/2 to 201/7. Riyan Parag scored 30, while Dhruv Jurel had a disappointing performance, managing only two runs off 16 balls.

He, along with Navdeep Saini, who scored 56, formed a crucial 205-run partnership for the eighth wicket, leading India B to a total of 321 runs.

KL Rahul was dropped in the last ODI against Sri Lanka

KL Rahul was not included in the 2024 T20 World Cup squad and made his return to the Indian team in the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. It was his first appearance since playing a Test against England earlier in the year before being sidelined by an injury.

Rahul had a disappointing series, scoring 31 and 0 in the first two games. He was subsequently dropped for the third ODI, with Rishabh Pant replacing him. Pant also struggled, scoring only six runs as India lost the series 0-2, with one match ending in a tie.
