West Indies and Uganda squared off against each other at Providence Stadium, Guyana, on Saturday, June 8 (local time), in match number 18 of the 2024 T20 World Cup. Uganda pacer Cosmas Kyewuta dazzled the viewers with a brilliant yorker in the encounter.

Bowling the 18th over of the West Indies innings, Kyewuta was up against Sherfane Rutherford. The batter struck a boundary towards the backward point region on the second ball of the over.

However, it was the right-arm seamer who had the last laugh, as he sent Rutherford packing by dishing out a sharp yorker on the subsequent delivery. The swashbuckling batter tried to block the ball, but couldn't get his bat down in time and the ball ultimately crashed onto the stumps.

You can watch the video of Kyewuta's yorker below:

Cosmas Kyewuta's delivery to dismiss Sherfane Rutherford was one of the positives in Uganda's otherwise disappointing performance. It was a completely one-sided affair, with West Indies (173/5) dismissing Uganda for 39 and securing a massive 134-run victory.

Uganda register the joint-lowest total in T20 World Cup history after being folded for 39 against West Indies

West Indies won the toss and elected to bat first in their T20 World Cup match against Uganda. Johnson Charles scored 44 runs at the top of the order while Andre Russell chipped in with an unbeaten 30-run knock.

Uganda went down without a fight as wickets fell like nine pins in the run chase. They were bundled out for a paltry score of 39, which is the joint-lowest total in the T20 World Cup history along with the Netherlands (all out for 39 against Sri Lanka in 2014).

Juma Miyagi remained unbeaten on 13 and was the only batter from the Uganda team who was able to cross the 10-run mark. West Indies pinner Akeal Hosein ran riot with the ball, bagging a five-wicket haul.

Hosein was adjudged the Player of the Match for his wonderful bowling figures of 4-0-11-5. With two wins from as many games, West Indies are currently placed second in the Group C points table of the 2024 T20 World Cup.
